Traffic staff adjust school zone signals for Plano ISD's new schedule
To compensate for the adjustments made in Plano ISD's schedule for the 2024-25 school year, city traffic staff have made adjustments to some school zone signals.
A resolution authorizing staff to regulate school zone flares around high schools was approved by Plano City Council IN August 12 meeting.

Before the 2024-25 school year, Plano ISD will delay dismissal times for students in elementary and middle schools by five minutes, according to city documents. The high school schedule was also adjusted by five minutes.

Within designated school zones in the city, the speed limit for vehicular traffic during school zone hours is 20 mph.
