The Ice House welcomes a new painter and the biggest smoker to Frisco, Texas
The Ice House at the PGA District in Frisco, Texas, known for exceptional barbecue, is expanding its capacity to meet growing demand.
As part of the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, the popular restaurant is installing a new smoker in the coming weeks. Pitmaster Rick Adamo, with over 30 years of experience, will join the restaurant and oversee the installation and unloading of the restaurant's new smoker.
According to an official statement, the new Southern Pride SPK 1400 smoker, standing at 7 feet tall and 6 feet wide, will replace the current smoker, affectionately named Lucille. This upgrade will nearly double the restaurant's capacity, allowing it to drink up to 60 flocks or 180 chickens at a time.
Ice House is known for its meticulous smoking process, slow-cooking certified Angus beef brisket over oak for 10 to 12 hours, and preparing its chicken with a detailed beer-draining procedure. and air drying. The restaurant also serves its meats with three homemade barbecue sauces and prepares over 50 kilograms of pickles per week.
The new smoker is expected to be operational by September 1, with plans to include guests in its naming.
Since opening in May 2023, Omni PGA Frisco Resort has quickly become a premier destination, offering luxurious amenities and experiences, including two championship golf courses and a variety of dining options.
