Strong storm hits Collin County, power outages across North Texas
At 5:49 a.m., sirens sounded in Frisco, Texas with winds reaching 80 mph and reports of 1.25 inch hail. “Please take shelter and be aware of the weather,” the city wrote Xformerly known as Twitter.
North Texas was hit by a severe storm. Fences were destroyed, trees were uprooted and damaged, and branches covered roads. Strong storm WARNING! for Collin County lasted until 6:30 a.m. There were also tornado warnings.
From 10 am, to Oncor discontinuity map (via WFAA) indicated that power outages in North Texas affected over 625,000 customers.
“Following this morning's devastating storms, Oncor crews and resources are out in force working to assess damage, clear debris and displaced vegetation, and enter areas to perform repair work across affected areas,” he wrote. Oncor in. X. “Work began as soon as it was safe and will continue around the clock.”
A flash flood warning was extended until 11 a.m. due to flooding and rain. According to Jesse Hawila of WFAA, “Heavy rain will move away from DFW over the next 1 – 2 hours.” Shortly after 11 am, severe storms look END for most of North Texas.

“Thunderstorms this morning will end or move away and the afternoon and evening will be mostly dry,” WFAA's Pete Delkus wrote in X. “Another round moves from the west to the east tonight. That round will have more heavy rain and a threat of flooding, but there may also be some strong wind/hailstorms.”
