Princeton Police Officer Killed in Car Crash – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth


Authorities and residents of a Collin County community are mourning the loss of a police officer who was killed in a traffic crash Saturday night.

According to Princeton policeOfficers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of E. Lucas Road and Lakeview Drive around 5:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Nancy Dominguez, an off-duty officer with the Princeton Police Department, driving one of the vehicles.

Dominguez was seriously injured and rushed to Medical City McKinney, where she later died.

Police said Officer Dominguez began her career at Princeton on July 25, 2022, where she has received numerous awards, including the 2022 Rookie of the Year, the 2023 Rookie of the Year, the 2023 Citizen Commendation Award, multiple departmental letters of commendation, the 2023 Life-Saving Award, and multiple RISE Awards.

“We are devastated and saddened by the passing of Officer Nancy Dominguez, a dedicated public servant and beloved member of the Princeton community,” the Princeton Police Department said on its Facebook page Saturday night.

“As we mourn the loss of Officer Dominguez, please keep her family, colleagues, and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Officer Dominguez.”

Dominguez's patrol car has been placed at the entrance to the Princeton Municipal Center in her memory. The car will remain there until she is laid to rest, and those who wish to pay their respects can visit her.
