Plano woman charged with murder after allegedly shooting husband

PLANO, Texas – or Plan the woman is accused of murder after she allegedly shot her husband on friday night.

Merridith Nunley, 38, is currently in the Collin County Jail.

Officers were called to a home on Monticello Circle for a shooting Friday night.

A man was found in the home with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was identified as 55-year-old David Nunley.

Merridith Nunley was taken into custody in the area of ​​West Park Boulevard and Alma Drive.

Police said Nunley called her friends to tell them she had shot her husband.

Officers found him about a mile and a half away and arrested him.

Investigators believe a domestic violence situation led to the shooting.

Plano PD said the couple has children, but they were with other family members before the incident and were not home at the time of the shooting.

Nunley is being held on a $500,000 bond.
