Plano ISD welcomes students from Japan – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

NBC 5 is screaming that something good is happening in Plano ISD – two worlds colliding at Rice High School.

This week, the school had a unique opportunity to host 10 students from Japan, thanks to a special visit from a delegation from Toyota Motor Corporation!

The parents of these students work for Toyota, which has a North American office in Plano.

Children from Japan can immerse themselves in American school life and share some of their culture, from Japanese art to school traditions and celebrations.

The Rice High School ambassadors made sure they felt right at home.

The event concluded with a very Texan BBQ lunch from HEB, Toyota USAAND Plano ISD Education Foundation.
