Ford Center at The Star in Frisco to host the fourth annual Jerry Jones Classic

Frisco, Texas — For the fourth straight season, two of the nation's premier high school football programs will kick off the season in the 2024 Jerry Jones Classic presented by Whataburger on Saturday, August 31, at 2:00 pm CT. Under the lights and roof of the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, the North Crowley Panthers and Lancaster Tigers collide for the first time in over 20 seasons. The highly anticipated high school football game will be broadcast live on TXA21.

North Crowley is fresh off their 6A Division I state semifinal appearance last season. The Panthers return with a senior class featuring five Division I commitments and three more also offered from major programs. North Crowley is led by North Texas commit Chris Jimerson Jr. who led the team in passing with 3,092 yards, 40 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,105 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Lancaster, on the other hand, enters 2024 with a loaded roster and a streak of five consecutive seasons with at least nine wins. They will have Nevada commit Carter Jones behind center after 1,895 passing yards last season. He will look to the playmaking ability of upcoming Oklahoma speedster Emmanuel Choice at the wide receiver position.

There's no greater way to start the season than playing in the best high school football facility in the country, hosting two of the most electrifying programs in the state. It all proves true to the popular adage of “Everything is bigger in Texas.”

“What an honor it is to have two Texas high school football programs competing here to open the season,” said Dallas Cowboys owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones. “The tradition that has been created with this game is something very special to me, my family and our entire organization. High school football is the lifeblood of our sport and we are proud to continue to host high school games throughout the season at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco.”

“Whataburger and Friday Night Football go hand in hand,” said Whataburger President and CEO Ed Nelson. “We are honored to be a part of this great tradition and are excited to kick off the football season with these two great teams.”
