Construction progresses on Watermere's $48 million McKinney development
Construction in Watermere at McKinney development is progressing as planned with the first units expected to be ready by the end of this year, according to an official.
The independent living community's seven villas should be ready for occupancy by November, said Andrew Chapin, vice president of development for Integrated Real Estate Group. The main building will be opened in phases, and the first phase is expected to be delivered in the spring of 2025, he said.
Construction will continue after the first phase opens and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025, Chapin said.
The $48 million development was announced in 2022 after the McKinney City Council approved a special use permit earlier that year. The main building will include 221 apartment units consisting of two and three bedroom floor plans.
