Conn's HomePlus files for bankruptcy, posts sale going out of business

All Conn's HomePlus locations are closing, with going-out sales including more than 50% off most merchandise.

Appliance retailer Conn's HomePlus filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and is closing all locations, including the Plano location.

While the store initially announced it would close only a few of its stores in July, the Texas-based chain announced last week that all locations would close.

Conn's HomePlus is joining other locations in having a going-out sale with 60% off bedding, up to 50% off electronics, up to 60% off appliances and up to 60% off furniture.

The US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas approved Conn's assets to be auctioned in September, including Conn's portfolio of outstanding installment loans. A hearing on the sale will take place on October 1, according to Furniture today. Those with outstanding balances on Conn's financing purchases and credit cards must continue to make payments while the auction and sale continue.

Conn's HomePlus Plano is located at 800 W 15th St Collin Creek Mall.
