Collin County's 911 service lines are operational, but static may persist, authorities say

Emergency callers who could not get through to the 911 phone lines serviced by Collin County were asked by the sheriff's office to text “911” Friday night.

said the office in X that the lines were experiencing “technical issues” and later gave an update that its system was operational but that “some static may persist.”

The issue was affecting people in more rural areas or towns that have 911 service calls from the county, such as Princeton or Anna, said Sgt. Jessica Pond, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.

Calls from larger dispatch cities, such as Plano or McKinney, were expected to go through, Pond said. Dallas Morning News.
