Collin County Sheriff's Office Officer Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A Collin County Sheriff's Office employee has been suspended without pay after being arrested in mid-February on domestic violence charges.

Stephen Smart was arrested on Wednesday, February 14, after detectives said they went to a local high school to report a child had made complaints of physical abuse.

During the investigation, the sheriff's office said authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Smart and took him into custody. Booking records show Smart was released the next day.

The investigation is still ongoing.
