Collin County manhunt for suspect who led police on short chase in Frisco – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
A man is on the run after a short police chase and a car crash in Collin County on Monday.
It ended on the Dallas Parkway, just south of US 380 in Frisco.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of a Dodge Challenger was pulled over for a traffic violation in the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway.
The driver stopped, but when a police officer approached him, the driver drove off, made a U-turn under the toll road, collided with another vehicle and ran away.
The passenger was arrested and taken to a hospital to be evaluated. Texas DPS said they found a gun and drugs in the car.
The driver ran away, heading east, into a field. Police searched but could not find the suspect.
“The suspect is a black male dressed all in gray, so if you see the suspect in his area, do not confront him, do not approach him, call 911 and let them know where you saw him,” said Sgt. Tony De La Cerda, a DPS spokesman.
The suspect has not been identified. Authorities said there was no danger to the public.
The passenger is charged with marijuana possession and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
