Collin County: First West Nile death reported
COLLIN COUNTY, Texas – Collin County health officials announced the first death there from West Nile virus, bringing the total number of North Texans killed by the disease to four.
Two cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Collin County this summer, in July and August. One of those cases resulted in death, it is unclear when exactly the victim died, based on the Collin County arbovirus activity report.

A total of 19 traps throughout Collin County have mosquitoes that tested positive for West Nile, according to the report.
