Allen Americans | Twinning and Profit as the Americans sign brothers from Western Canada


Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate Utah Hockey Clubis proud to announce that the team has signed forward Rylan Van Unenand the protector, Mike Van Unen, for contracts for the 2024-2025 season.

“I am super excited to come down to Texas and start my pro career,” said Rylan Van Unen. “I have heard good things about the city and the team.

Rylan Van Unen just finished four years in Northern Michigan Universitywhere he had 10 points in 33 games, along with 55 penalty minutes in his senior year of collegiate hockey, where he was eighth on the team in scoring.

“Rylan (VanUnen) is always competitive,” the head coach noted BJ Adams. “He plays hard with the ball and with his money.”

Mike Van Unen also played collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Blue played 11 games in the ECHL last season with Adirondack Thunder, which included two games against the Americans last April.

“Mike (VanUnen) is a solid defenseman who plays with an edge,” he said BJ Adams. “He plays hard and can make that first pass. He also does all the little things well.”

“I'm excited to come to Allen,” he said Mike Van Unen. “The fans and the atmosphere around the square is amazing. I witnessed that firsthand last year when I played for Adirondack in Allen. I look forward to being part of the team.

The Americans open training camp in October. Home opener weekend is October 25thth and the 26thth when the Americans host the Kansas City Mavericks. TICKET!
