Acclaimed Dallas chef opens Even Coast, a neighborhood restaurant in Far North Dallas
Even Coast Seafood and Steakhouse opened today, August 19, 2024, on Belt Line Road in Far North Dallas, near Addison.
Praised Dallas chef Omar Flores, who became a beloved restaurateur more than a decade ago when he was called one of Dallas Morning NewsTop Chefs in Dallas-Fort Worthwas previously known for his restaurant Casa Rubia in Trinity Groves in West Dallas. He later opened the Whistle Britches chicken and biscuit shop and the Tex-Mex restaurant Muchacho, which are still in operation in Dallas, Southlake and Plano.
Even Bregu is his new neighborhood restaurant with a slightly fancier feel.
The restaurant on Belt Line Road is near Dallas-born Mexican restaurant Mesero and down the street from a host of restaurants along North Dallas Street in Addison, including Postino, Loro, Vidorra, Neighborhood Services, Kenny's Italian Kitchen and more.
The menu has a feeling something for everyone.
Seafood starters include oysters, smoked salmon and yellowtail crudo. Appetizers offer steak tartare, burrata with pomegranate molasses vinaigrette and crispy calamari. The house-made pasta seems like a must – especially if you're sharing it – with options of crab bucatini, mafalde bolognese and pesto fusilli. Sandwiches include a double cheeseburger and a lobster roll. Then it's on the griddle: steaks, Texas redfish, scallops, Spanish octopus and the like.
Most entrees cost $29 to $43; steaks cost up to $135.
The restaurant, bathed in blue with curved banquettes, was designed to feel like a “nice neighborhood restaurant,” Flores said in a statement.
Bregu is also at 5463 Belt Line Road, Dallas. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
