3 indicted in 2018 sex-trafficking death of teen, Collin County DA says
Three North Texas residents are facing sex trafficking charges in connection with the 2018 death of a Cleburne teenager, authorities said.
or Collin County A grand jury indicted them last month and the three were arrested Tuesday, marking the “culmination of a multi-year, multi-agency investigation” into the spring 2018 death of Julia Wells, District Attorney Greg Willis said in a news release. on friday.
Arrested were Mark Alan Dailey, 51, of Plano, on trafficking resulting in death, trafficking and coercion of prostitution charges; Nikki Jordan, 48, of Fort Worth, on charges of trafficking and prostitution; and Anna Hudson, 42, of Mabank, on a charge of trafficking, according to the release. It was not clear Friday if they had attorneys.
The Collin County District Attorney's Office will prosecute the case. A number of law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Attorney General's office, Texas Rangers and Dallas police, cooperated in the investigation, according to the release.
Dailey, Jordan and Hudson are accused of being involved in the trafficking of young women in April 2018, including Wells, 18, and at least one other woman, according to the release. Dailey and Jordan, the release continues, were involved in “coercing women into prostitution.”
The circumstances surrounding Wells' death are unclear. None of the three were charged with murder.
A conviction for trafficking resulting in death, a first-degree felony, carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison. Trafficking and forced prostitution, which are second-degree felonies, carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Dailey, Jordan and Hudson remained in Collin County custody Friday afternoon, online jail records show.
